For more than a decade Woolwich market has been a source of food, clothing and conversation - this film offers an ethnographic treatment of the people who make the market what it is: the traders. Through their stories we explore the many cultures of this open and closed market.

Talk of the Trade was made as part of the South East Ethnography Project and screened at the University of British Columbia’s 2nd Anthropological Film Festival and for the European Memento exhibition in Belgium.

(2008, 6 mins)

2008 was marked by a sharp rise in gun and knife crime amongst young people in London. When Alex Rose lost a friend to gang violence he started the Stop T-Shirt Campaign to raise awareness about gun and knife crime and his position as a role model for young people. With interviews from Alex and those inspired by his campaign, this film shows the positive impact young people can have on their communities.

Made by a group of young people & Postcode Films as part of the 'BFI Reel Lives' Street Genius project.

The film has been screened at a number of film festivals around London.
